COMMENT

70年代デザインの18金無垢 オールドインターです。樽型Cラインとボリュームのある見た目のケースですが、実際のサイズはIWCのカラトラバケースと同様の35mm径となっています。ダイヤルは縦ヘアラインでケースのヘアラインと合わせてシャープさを演出します。ペンシルハンドとバーインデックスのシンプルな組み合わせで中央にブラックのプリントが乗っており、当時のIWCらしいデザインです。

搭載されているCal.423は、Cal.85系統から自動巻を取り除いたモデルで、Cal.400系統の最終型にあたります。1970年代に数千個しか製造されておらず、希少なムーブメントです。著名ではないものの、その薄型で高い実用性を兼ね備えた仕様は、実用的な時計としての魅力を放っています。

ケースは素晴らしいコンディションを維持しています。側面の滑らかなラインや裏蓋の刻印がはっきり視認できます。ダイヤルには僅かな傷が見られますが、美しい状態を保っており、色味の変化はありません。針はブラックプリントによってくすみや傷のない状態を維持しています。インデックスは一段上がったブラックプリントが高い視認性を保っています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

BRAND

アメリカマサチューセッツ州ボストン出身の時計師、フロレンタイン・アリオスト・ジョーンズが1868年に創立したのが始まり。特徴的なデザインで今なお世界中で人気を誇る「パイロット・ウォッチ」コレクションなど、多くの人気シリーズを発売。磁気から時計を守る為の軟鉄製インナーケースや、IWC独自の"ぺラトン式"と呼ばれる両回転式自動巻機構はあまりに有名。

This 1970s vintage IWC is an elegant example of the brand's old-world design sensibilities. The barrel-shaped C-line case, while voluminous in appearance, retains a 35mm diameter, aligning with IWC’s design intent, similar to their Calatrava cases. The vertical hairline finish on the dial complements the case's own texture, creating a sharp and refined look. The simple pencil hands and bar indexes, with central black printing, evoke the classic IWC design of the era.

The movement, Cal.423, is a manual-wind variant of the Cal.85 series, minus the automatic winding mechanism, making it the final model in the Cal.400 series. With only a few thousand produced in the 1970s, it remains a rare and sought-after movement. Although not widely known, its slim profile and practicality make it a highly functional and attractive option for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

The case maintains excellent condition, with clear engravings on the case back and smooth side profiles.
