OMEGA Seamaster Ref.2577-9 Rose Gold Bumper

COMMENT

COMMENT

This is a first-generation Seamaster, Ref. 2577, from the 1950s. Over the years, slight changes can be observed in the case shape and movement, but this particular model, with a serial number of 1.26 million and a production date of -9, belongs to the mid-production period. It features the distinctive extremely thick lugs without any hole or facets. The case is finished in rare rose gold plating. The two-tone dial design includes the classic Seamaster logo placed at the top, a feature more common in earlier designs. The applied indices are embossed, with rose gold gilding adding a touch of elegance. The movement is the Cal. 351, which was first adopted during the early years of the Seamaster's production.

The case shows light surface wear, with small scratches from storage, but the overall appearance remains clean, and the mirror finish creates a complex interplay of reflections. The dial is in excellent condition, with only minimal signs of aging detectable under magnification, and it retains its overall good condition. Upon closer inspection, there is slight hand burn around the 9 o'clock position, but this is hardly noticeable with the naked eye. The hands and indices are free from any tarnishing and retain their shine. The watch has been fully serviced by our company.

This Seamaster features exceptionally long lugs, extending lower than the case back, a unique design element that Omega only used during this period. This design provides a snug, comfortable fit on the wrist. Reflecting the post-war design era, the moderately aged dial and the feel of the bumper-type movement further enhance the charm of this timepiece.
