VACHERON CONSTANTIN Ref.2093 Tonneau Black Dial

COMMENT

COMMENT

A Vacheron Constantin with an ultra-thin tonneau case crafted in 18k white gold. The case features a delicate radial brushed finish on the top surface, highlighting the supple texture of white gold. The matte black dial stands out with a densely textured finish reminiscent of fine wool. The glass crystal adds a striking mirror-like brilliance when viewed under light. Both the indices and hands are adorned with white printed centers, ensuring excellent legibility.

The watch is powered by the Cal. K1014, a high-end movement based on Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Cal. 818 and exclusively used by Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin. Adjusted to five positions (covering positional and thermal variations), this movement exemplifies precision and reliability, making it a perfect fit for a top-tier dress watch.

The case remains in unpolished, outstanding condition, free from noticeable damage. The brushed finish on the case back and the hallmarks on the reverse side of the lugs show no signs of wear. The crown is virtually untouched. The dial is in excellent condition, with only a slight, almost imperceptible patina on the outer edge that is barely noticeable to the naked eye. The watch has been professionally serviced and is ready for use.

While any Vacheron Constantin with a black dial is rare, this piece’s matte black dial with its unique texture is an exceptional find. Combined with the space-age design aesthetics of the 1970s, this watch exudes a mysterious charm that is unmistakably of its time.

BRAND

Vacheron Constantin, founded in the mid-18th century, is the oldest luxury watch brand in the world. In Japan, it was historically affectionately called "Baseron Constantin" due to a mistranslation. The brand inherits the spirit of "Cabinotiers," where highly skilled craftsmen established workshops in attics (or "cabins") to seek light and were thus referred to as "Cabinotiers." The brand's logo features the Maltese cross, and its highly refined craftsmanship has garnered widespread acclaim, making its timepieces coveted by collectors around the globe.
