OMEGA the earliest Constellation Cal.352 Ref.2652

COMMENT

OMMENT

This remarkable early Omega Constellation, produced in 1952, is equipped with the rare bumper automatic Cal. 352 RG—an upgraded version featuring a fine regulator and highly sought-after among collectors. The case is crafted in solid 18K yellow gold with a screw-down caseback, and features early-style lugs with smooth, unchamfered contours, contributing to its elegant and understated profile.

The dial is a striking two-tone design, with a matte-finished central section and metallic outer ring. This composition adds depth and sophistication to the overall presentation. The diamond-shaped applied indexes are meticulously faceted, providing excellent legibility while also adding a touch of luxury. A subtle crosshair motif divides the dial, enhancing its symmetry and vintage charm. Notably, the Omega logo is printed rather than applied—a signature detail of the earliest Constellation models, adding further historic appeal.

The dial is in mint condition. The metallic outer ring remains beautifully preserved, contrasting sharply and elegantly with the matte center. The diamond-cut indexes glisten with brilliance, elevating the dial’s overall refinement. The case retains its original proportions, with sharp edges on the lugs and bezel that reflect careful preservation over the decades. Fully serviced by our watchmaker and in outstanding condition.

Following the success of the Centenary—the brand’s first automatic chronometer—Omega launched the Constellation line as its flagship collection of chronometer-certified automatic watches. This example from the debut year is an exceptionally rare piece of horological history. Finding a watch from this period with a well-preserved dial, movement, and matching hands is exceedingly uncommon. A treasure that balances historical importance with refined aesthetics, this Constellation offers a rare opportunity to own one of Omega’s most iconic early masterpieces.
