ブライトリングのスプリント。ツートンダイヤルによってインダイヤルの視認性を高めた秀逸なデザインが特徴です。輝きの強いアルミベゼルとツートンカラーの組み合わせは個性的でありながら、インデックスや針はバータイプのシンプルなデザインを採用。外周にはチャプターリングとタキメーターがプリントされ、実用性にも優れています。ケースはラウンドプッシャーを備えた防水スナップ仕様。搭載ムーブメントのValjoux（バルジュー）7730は、もともとVenus（ビーナス）188として開発された近代的なカム式クロノグラフであり、後に自動巻クロノグラフの傑作ムーブメントである7750へと進化を遂げました。

本品はNEW OLD STOCK（未使用品）で、当時の製造技術やデザインを知る上でも貴重な資料的価値を持つ一本です。販売当時の革ベルトとバックルが付属し、ケースのエッジや傷一つない鏡面仕上げには、当時のモノづくりの精巧さを感じさせられます。アルミベゼルはダメージが現れやすいパーツですが、色味が濃く、瑞々しい印象を保っています。ダイヤルも目立った傷や汚れがなく、針やインデックスのコンディションも良好です。

1884年、スイスのサン・ティミエに複雑時計製作の工房が設立されたのが＜BREITLING＞のルーツ。創業者のレオン・ブライトリングはクロノグラフ製作の才能に富み、博覧会では数々の賞を受賞、その名を世間に知らしめました。彼はエンジン飛行機が発展途上であった頃から航空産業の発展を確信し、飛行機のための時計や計器メーカーとして航空産業を支える意志を示しました。その意志を受け継いだ2代目ガストン・ブライトリングは世界初の腕時計型クロノグラフを開発するなど航空産業に多大な貢献をしています。“クロノグラフのスペシャリスト”として確固たる地位を築いた＜BREITLING＞は、今なお世界中で愛されている名門ブランドとして発展し続けています。

COMMENT

The Breitling Sprint features an outstanding design that enhances the legibility of its sub-dials through a two-tone dial layout. The striking aluminum bezel, combined with the bold contrast of the two-tone scheme, creates a unique yet balanced aesthetic. The indexes and hands adopt a simple bar design, ensuring clarity, while the outer ring is printed with a tachymeter scale for practical use. The case is equipped with round pushers and a waterproof snap-back structure. The watch is powered by the Valjoux 7730, a modern cam-operated chronograph originally developed as the Venus 188, which later evolved into the legendary automatic chronograph movement, the Valjoux 7750.

This piece is a New Old Stock (NOS) example, making it a valuable reference for understanding the craftsmanship and design of its era. It comes with its original leather strap and buckle from the time of sale. The sharp case edges and pristine mirror finish highlight the precision of period manufacturing. The aluminum bezel, often prone to wear, remains vibrant and well-preserved. The dial is free from noticeable blemishes, with the hands and indexes maintaining excellent condition.
