1964年に誕生した国産初の150m防水ダイバーズウォッチ、Ref.6217-8001。国内外で高く評価されており、「62MAS」の愛称で知られる名作です。細部の仕様にはマイナーチェンジが多く見られますが、本個体は1966年から67年にかけて約1年間のみ製造された、ビッグリューズとイルカのケースバックを備えたバリエーション。こちらは初期に見られる刻印の浅いイルカが特徴で、摩耗ではなく製造当初の仕様とされています。ケースは角ばったCライン、ベゼルは両方向回転式、裏蓋はスクリューバック構造。グレーのサンレイ仕上げのダイヤルが深みのある印象を与えています。ムーブメントはCal.6217Aを搭載し、手巻き機能を持たない全自動巻仕様。リューズを一段引くことで日付のクイックチェンジが可能となっており、実用性にも優れた一本です。

ケースはエッジが明瞭に立ち、打痕の見られない素晴らしい保存状態です。オリジナルのプロポーションをしっかりと保ち、ヴィンテージとして非常に高い価値を備えています。ベゼルのインサートはブラウンへと色調が変化しており、独特の風格を感じさせます。ダイヤルはくすみや傷のないミントに近い状態で、針はくすみのない視認性の高いコンディションです。針・インデックスの夜光塗料は欠けなどはなく、ヴィンテージらしい佇まいを保っています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

The Ref. 6217-8001, introduced in 1964, is Japan’s first 150‑meter water-resistant dive watch and is renowned both domestically and internationally under the nickname “62MAS.” Although several variations exist due to numerous minor specification changes, this particular example is a rare variant produced for only about one year between 1966 and 1967, featuring the highly sought-after large crown and a caseback engraved with a dolphin motif. Notably, this specimen displays a dolphin engraving with shallow markings characteristic of the early production models—considered an original specification rather than wear. The case exhibits a sharply contoured C-line design, the bezel is bidirectional, and the caseback is screw-down. The grey sunburst dial exudes depth and sophistication. Powering the watch is the fully automatic Cal. 6217A, which forgoes a manual winding function but allows for a quick-set date by pulling the crown to its first position—making it highly practical for everyday wear.

The case is exceptionally well preserved, with clearly defined edges and no visible dents, maintaining its original proportions and underscoring its high vintage value. The bezel insert has developed a brown patina that distinguishes it from other examples, adding to its unique character. The dial remains nearly mint with no visible signs of haze or damage, while the hands retain excellent visibility without any oxidation. The luminous material on both the hands and indexes shows no loss of material, preserving its vintage charm. The watch has been fully disassembled and professionally cleaned by our team.
