PATEK PHILIPPE Ref.3445

COMMENT

COMMENT

This Ref. 3445 features a white gold case defined by its multi-faceted bezel and elongated lugs—a form that balances sharpness with refinement. Its subtle silhouette is complemented by a silver sunburst dial, where baton indexes and pencil hands are arranged in perfect symmetry, even with the addition of a date display. The movement is the Caliber 27-460M, regarded as the final evolution of Patek Philippe’s legendary automatic calibers. An advancement of the earlier Cal. 12-600AT, this movement combines a thin profile with high torque, and offers exceptional winding efficiency and quiet operation—state-of-the-art engineering for its time. The “M” denotes the date function, and its integration reflects Patek Philippe’s hallmark harmony between technical innovation and refined design.

The dial remains in pristine condition, showing no signs of aging, discoloration, or spotting. The surface finish retains its luster, and the printed details are crisp and legible. The hands are free from oxidation or tarnish, and softly reflect the light, contributing to the watch’s balanced and composed aesthetic. The case shows only minimal handling marks, with the lugs and bezel preserving their defined lines and sculpted form. The screw-down caseback displays clear circular brushing, consistent with its original factory finish, and speaks to the enduring quality of its construction. Fully overhauled by our workshop.

Released in the 1960s, the Ref. 3445 was Patek Philippe’s first serially produced self-winding calendar model, and stands as a quiet masterpiece that unites utility with grace. The understated glow of white gold sets it apart from its yellow gold or steel counterparts, giving it a calm presence that pairs seamlessly with modern styles. A dress watch of timeless elegance, it exemplifies a level of craftsmanship and restraint that transcends trends and eras alike.
