ZENITH Cal.26-6 Stötsäker

COMMENT

COMMENT

Although it appears simple at first glance, it is an elaborate dial that required many manufacturing processes. The vertical hairline-finished silver face is a two-tone design with a contrasting texture around the hour markers, giving it a different look depending on the angle. The lowered second sub-dial is made to look like a record record. The outer circumference features 24-hour notation, and the minute markers are three-dimensionally expressed with embossed pearl drops. The hands are luminous, along with the highly visible pencil hands and Arabic numeral indexes. The screw-back stainless steel waterproof case is robust, typical of sports models of the time, and also features a double structure for increased dust resistance.

The case shows light surface wear consistent with age, but overall remains in very good condition. The crystal is scratch-free, maintaining full legibility. The dial has developed a warm, subtle patina over time, enhancing its vintage character. The hands have aged into a soft, muted tone, and the luminous material on both the hands and indexes has taken on a rich brown hue. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our team.

The case back is neatly engraved with markings denoting the watch’s technical features: Stötsäker (Swedish for “shockproof,” indicating Incabloc shock protection), WATERPROOF (thanks to the screw-back construction), and ANTIMAGNETIC (referring to the dual-case design). These specifications speak to the high technical standards of the time. Originally exported to the Swedish market, this Zenith model remains one of the brand’s most distinctive vintage sports watches, standing out for its design precision and mechanical integrity.
