The date aperture is positioned unusually close to the dial’s center, a so-called “cross-eyed” layout, and the minute track is similarly drawn inward, giving the design a distinctive character. This subtle deviation from IWC’s typically strict design principles introduces a quiet charm that sets the watch apart. The case is crafted from solid 18K gold—another point of distinction—and is fitted with the vintage-style crown nicknamed “Coelacanth,” further enhancing its rarity.
