S.T.Dupont Tortoiseshell - Like

COMMENT

BRAND

COMMENT

This rectangular dress watch features a striking tortoiseshell-style dial finished in Chinese lacquer, offering a rich, lustrous brown surface with remarkable depth. The minimalist design is characterized by understated bar indexes and matching bar hands, leaving generous negative space that enhances the overall elegance. Matching lacquer detailing also extends to the sides of the case, highlighting the watch’s unique texture and refined aesthetic sensibility.

The gold-plated case is sharply contoured with smooth beveling, staying true to a classic dress watch profile. It houses a Swiss-made quartz movement known for its reliability and precision, making it well-suited for everyday wear. Fully disassembled and cleaned by our workshop.

This piece belongs to S.T. Dupont’s watch collection, developed in the late 1980s to early 1990s. Like their iconic lighters and writing instruments of the same era, the watch reflects the maison’s distinct sense of luxury and craftsmanship through shared materials and design language. It is an embodiment of quiet sophistication, merging the elegance of fine jewelry with the restraint of minimalist design.

BRAND

Founded in 1872 in Paris by Simon Tissot-Dupont, S.T. Dupont began as a maker of luxury leather briefcases for diplomats. Over the years, the brand expanded into producing lighters, writing instruments, and objets d’art. After joining the Gillette group in 1971, it became part of Hong Kong-based Dickson Concepts in 1987. Although a relatively late entrant to the watch industry, the brand has infused its timepieces with the same mastery of fine metalwork and finishing that defines its heritage. S.T. Dupont watches exemplify the maison’s commitment to elegance, craftsmanship, and distinctive French design.
