1970年に登場した56GSのデイデイトモデル、Ref.5646-7000です。自動巻Cal.5646Aを搭載し、曜日・日付表示を備えています。シルバーダイヤルには繊細なサンレイ仕上げを施し、細身のバーインデックスとシャープな針を配置。曜日表示は日本語と英語の切り替え式です。丸みを帯びたクッション型ケースが、端正な文字盤に柔らかな印象を添えています。Cal.5646Aは毎時28,800振動のハイビート仕様で、日付・曜日の早送り機能と秒針停止機能を備えます。

ケースには細かな擦り傷が広く見られ、特にラグやケース側面には線傷が確認できます。丸みのあるケースラインは保たれています。文字盤は明るいシルバーの色調とサンレイの質感が残り、インデックスや針、各表記も明瞭です。裏蓋のGSメダリオンには経年によるくすみが見られます。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

56GSは、日常での使いやすさを重視し、薄型で手首に馴染むデザインにまとめられたシリーズです。高精度な自動巻ムーブメントにデイデイト機能を組み合わせた本機には、当時のグランドセイコーが実用性と精度の両立を目指した姿勢が表れています。

Introduced in 1970, this Grand Seiko Ref. 5646-7000 is a day-date model from the 56GS series. It is powered by the automatic Cal. 5646A and features day and date displays. The silver dial has a fine sunburst finish, complemented by slender baton indexes and sharply defined hands. The day display can be set to either Japanese or English. Its rounded cushion-shaped case lends a softer character to the clean dial. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the high-beat Cal. 5646A also provides quick adjustment for both the day and date, together with hacking seconds.

Fine scratches are visible across the case, with linear marks particularly noticeable on the lugs and case sides. The rounded case profile remains well preserved. The dial retains its bright silver tone and sunburst texture, while the hands, indexes, and printed markings remain clearly defined. The GS medallion on the case back shows some tarnishing consistent with age. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

The 56GS series was designed with everyday usability in mind, combining a slim profile with comfortable proportions. With its high-precision automatic movement and practical day-date display, this example reflects Grand Seiko’s pursuit of both accuracy and functionality during the period.
