COMMENT

 オメガのレジェンド、スピードマスターRef.145.012です。NASAの正式採用となり、「PROFESSIONAL」の名が文字盤に登場しています。ケースメーカーはユゲニン・フレアー（HF=Huguenin Freres）製。ツイストラグにアプライドのオメガロゴ、ステップしたダイヤルは長く造られたスピードマスターでも短い期間でしか楽しめない意匠となっています。搭載ムーブメントはCal.321。後のCal.861のカム式と違い、ピラーホイール式のため、コスト高で、チラネジテンプに巻き上げヒゲと高級仕様です。アーカイブが付属します。

ケースは軽く使用傷が見られますが、変な瘦せがなくツイストラグのエッジが効いており迫力を感じます。ベゼルは部分的にエイジングしており、ぶち模様を見せています。ダイヤルは当時の質感を完璧に残した、パーフェクトなコンディションです。ダイヤルや針のホワイトプリントははっきりした色味を残しており、アプライドのロゴは綺麗な鏡面反射を見せています。インデックスのトリチウムは均一なエイジングで、ヴィンテージウォッチらしい芳醇な表情となっています。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、48時間以上のパワーリザーブを確認しています。ビデオを掲載していますので、ぜひご確認ください。

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名なお話。

This is the Omega legend, the Speedmaster Ref.145.012. With NASA's official adoption, the dial proudly displays the name "PROFESSIONAL". The case maker is Huguenin Freres (HF). It features a twisted lug with an applied Omega logo, and the stepped dial design is something that can only be enjoyed for a short period within the long production history of the Speedmaster. It houses the Cal.321 movement, which, unlike the later Cal.861 with a cam system, is a pillar-wheel type, making it costly and luxurious with its swan neck regulator and high-quality specifications. Archives are included.

The case shows slight signs of use, but there are no noticeable damages, and the edges of the twisted lugs remain sharp, giving it an imposing presence. The bezel exhibits partial aging, displaying a charming patina. The dial is in perfect condition, retaining the texture of its era impeccably. The white print on the dial and hands retains a clear hue, while the applied logo exhibits a beautiful mirrored reflection. The tritium on the indices has aged uniformly, giving it a rich vintage character. It has been disassembled and cleaned by us, with a power reserve of over 48 hours confirmed. BRAND

While nowadays the equation "Speedmaster equals Space" immediately comes to mind, back then it was born purely as a motor sports watch with no relation to space at all. Additionally, the Speedmaster is said to be the first watch in the world to display a tachymeter on the external bezel instead of the dial. In 1959, the Speedmaster underwent a minor change, with the bezel transitioning to a black aluminium base and the needle shape changing from arrow to alpha, increasing visibility. NASA was seeking a robust chronograph that could withstand the harsh environment of space, and the Speedmaster, which defeated many strong competitors, was officially adopted as the space watch. It's a well-known story that the Speedmaster was worn during the first manned moon landing in 1969.
