OMEGA Constellation Ref.14381 Ash Gilt Dial

COMMENT

COMMENT

Omega's flagship model, the Constellation, features a popular black gilt dial. The dial's inner part is flat, while the outer part has a sloping design, creating a pie-pan dial with twelve facets. The applied logo, stars, and cross lines add a tastefully elegant touch. With no date complication, you can appreciate the symmetrical face. The multi-faceted bar indexes and dauphine hands create a classic combination. The hands precisely traverse the minutes, showcasing a well-calculated and appealing design. The bracelet is equipped with rice bead links, Ref. 8220, and Endlink 11.

The case shows no signs of polishing, and the mirrored surfaces of the lugs and bezel are beautiful, with sharp edges indicating careful handling. The black mirror dial has transformed into an ash color with brown hues due to aging, enhancing the three-dimensional feel of the pie-pan design. There are no visible damages or scratches, and the gilt letters and cross lines stand out impressively. The indexes and applied Ω logo reflect beautifully with no dullness. The hands exhibit slight aging, contributing to an overall well-preserved appearance. The bracelet, with fixed links in a 9-9 configuration, features the original taper from the time of release. It has undergone an overhaul in our shop, and a 48-hour power reserve has been confirmed.

The Constellation made its debut as an automatic chronometer model, leading Omega's high-precision dress watches. The meticulous details enhancing the overall beauty of the watch are a testament to the brand's energy.

Due to the excellent automatic winding efficiency of Omega's movements from this era, manual winding is rarely necessary. The original crown of the Constellation prioritizes design, and while manual winding may feel somewhat challenging, it is part of the original specifications and poses no issue.
