スカラベオメガです。30.5mmのミッドサイズケースですが、大きく突き出た迫力のあるラグは良い装着感を与えてくれます。海外ではブルホーンとも呼ばれるこのラグは、他ブランドはスイングタイプを製作しましたが、オメガは固定タイプを採用しました。ミニッツトラックと、オメガロゴはどちらもブラックのプリントです。針は根元のくびれたペンシルハント、インデックスはルムと大戦期によく見られたデザインです。キャリバー26.5は30mmキャリバー登場前の手巻きのオメガを牽引してきた代表的なムーブメントです。センターセコンドモデルや、耐震装置付きなど、バリエーションが多く、この世代とは思えない程安定感のある機械です。

スカラベデザインのケースは変な痩せが見られず、当時のプロポーションが美しいです。小傷も最低限のみで、とても80年前に製造された製品だとは思えないほどのコンディションです。ダイアルは年式に見合った焼けが見られます。パリッとしたSSケースとの対比が面白いです。ルミナスはエイジングを受けながらも元の色味を残しており、均一なグレーカラーを見せています。ブルースチールの針は殊のほか色残しが良く、フェイスの印象をよくしています。当店にてオーバーホール済みで、45時間のパワーリザーブを確認しています。

スカラベとはフンコロガシを意味する言葉で、古代エジプトで太陽神ラーを具体化した生物として「顕現」を意味します。アールデコ最盛期に生み出されたものですので、ヴィンテージの中でもとりわけ古いアンティークものがお好きな方へおすすめしたい一品です。

Both the minute track and the Omega logo are elegantly printed in black. The hands showcase a tapered pencil design at the base, and the indexes reflect a design reminiscent of the luminescent style commonly seen during the wartime era. The caliber 26.5 is a representative movement that led Omega's hand-wound watches before the introduction of the 30mm caliber. With various variations such as center-seconds models and shock-resistant versions, this movement exudes a surprising level of stability for its era.

The Scarab-designed case exhibits a proportional beauty without any odd thinning, maintaining the charming proportions of its time. It bears only minimal scratches, showcasing an astonishing condition that is hard to believe for a product manufactured 80 years ago. The dial displays an appropriate aging for its era, creating an interesting contrast with the crisp stainless steel case. The luminescent material, while aging, retains its original color, presenting a consistent gray hue. The blue steel hands remarkably retain their color, enhancing the overall impression of the face.
