COMMENT

視認性の高いアラビア数字にスモールセコンドを配したダイアルは、アール・デコ・レクタンギュラーモデル。サークルラインからミニッツが飛び出しており、この世代のロンジンなどに見られた東京都ダイヤルを思わせる意匠です。ブルースチールの針は、オメガの角形モデルに見られた特徴的な形です。ケースは、角型タイプの課題であった防塵性の改善のために2重構造となっています。

ケースは使用による小傷が確認できる程度で、時代を考慮すると状態の良いコンディションを維持しています。画像の通り、ダイアルは大きくエイジングを受け、個性的なカラーリングを見せています。ブルースチール針は所々色抜けが見られますが、深みのある青は残っています。

搭載されているムーブメントT17はオメガの中で種類の少ない角型ムーブメントの1つ、T17は30年代らしい古典的なムーブメントです。銀色メッキの受け、オーバーコイルに温度補正用の切りテンプと繊細な技術が詰まっています。アンクルの形が変わっており、狭い機械に収める為のいびつな形状に、重心を安定させる工夫がなされています。戦前のスタイルを堪能できる、貴重なお品です。

19世紀中頃にルイ・ブランによりスイスのラ・ショー・ド・フォンで時計の組立工場からスタートしたブランド＜OMEGA（オメガ）＞。創業から160年もの歴史を刻み続けるオメガ社は高級時計メーカーとしてロレックスと並び、人気・知名度は群を抜いています。

COMMENT

The dial, featuring highly legible Arabic numerals with a small seconds sub-dial, is reminiscent of the Art Deco rectangular models. The design, with minutes extending from the circular lines, evokes the Tokyo Dial seen in Longines and other watches of this generation. The blued steel hands resemble the distinctive shape found in Omega's rectangular models. The case adopts a double structure to address the dust-proofing issues common in angular-type cases.

The case maintains a good condition considering its age, with only minor scratches from use. As shown in the images, the dial has undergone significant aging, displaying a unique coloring. While there are some areas of fading on the blued steel hands, the deep blue color remains intact.

The movement T17, one of Omega's few angular movements, is a classical movement typical of the 1930s. It features a silver-plated receiver, an overcoil for temperature compensation, and a cut balance wheel for delicate adjustments. The unusual shape of the balance cock is designed to stabilize the center of gravity within the confined space of the mechanism. This watch offers a rare opportunity to enjoy pre-war style craftsmanship.
