OMEGA Geneve Ref.135.015 ADMIRALTY Rare Dial

COMMENT

The Omega Geneve Admiralty, a unique model line that emerged in the late 1960s, offered several design variations. This particular model features an easily operable large crown reminiscent of military styles from the 1940s, with a 1960s adaptation of crown guards for convenience. The case, developed by EPSA (Ervin Piquerez SA), known for creating waterproof cases like the Super Compressor, showcases a unique engraving on the inside of the case back, resembling a deformed diving bell. The light brown dial, inspired by the 1940s British military, is less common among the various dial variations, making this model rare. It houses the Cal.601 movement, based on the renowned 550 series.

The case has sharp and wonderful proportions with minimal signs of use, and the case back engravings are still visible. The dial is in perfect condition, maintaining the delicate color tones of the era. The white scratch near 6 o'clock in the photos is on the crystal and can be removed upon request. The painted hands show no signs of fading, preserving their original appearance. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our experts, ensuring flawless functionality.

Affectionately nicknamed "Ikari" in Italian, meaning "Anchor," this model represents Omega's unique approach, offering a lighter sports model during a time when more robust diver's watches already existed. The richness in color and the elegant yet impactful design reflect Omega's distinctive identity. The military brown dial adds an intriguing touch, showcasing individual character in each piece. It displays a beautiful and unique color tone.
