1960年代に販売されたヴァシュロン・コンスタンタン、レクタングルウォッチです。18Kホワイトゴールドのケースは厚さ5.5mmと薄型です。ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ仕上げ。インデックスの配置がユニークで、12時と6時位置が縦方向のロングバーインデックス。その他は横方向のショートインデックスで、ダイヤル外周に配し、レクタングルの余白を魅せた、ビザールなフェイスデザインです。ケースサイズはレディースのようなものですが、現在のトレンドとしては、男女どちらでも楽しめるサイズ感です。

搭載ムーブメントはルクルト社製ムーブメントをチューンナップした手巻きの薄型Cal.K1050です。時代的に17石仕様の品が多い中、20石仕様、5ポジション（五姿勢及び温度補正）の機械であり、名実ともに最高のドレスウォッチです。

ケースはケースバックに若干の保管傷が見られるものの、ホールマークやエッジは当時のままを保っています。ダイヤルはルーペで確認すると、写真の通り粒状の経年変化がわずかに見られますが、焼けによる色づきは見られません。弊社にて分解掃除は済ませていますので、実使用にもコレクションにも最適です。

弊社にて仕入れ時に、ヴァシュロン純正のベルトが付属していたので、同様にメンズサイズのベルトをつけています。これは当時ヴァシュロンの意図だったのかもしれません。クラシカルでマスキュリンな印象を受けるドレスウォッチ。ユニークなダイヤルですが、名門が作ると奥深さを感じます。トレンドのレクタングルケースですので、現在のモードにもぴったりです。

18世紀中頃創業のヴァシュロン・コンスタンタン。日本では誤訳により長い間バセロン・コンスタンチンの呼称で愛されていました。キャビノチェの精神に受け継ぐ世界最古の高級時計ブランドです。キャビノチェは、照明装置の乏しかった当時、技術の高い職人は明かりを求めて屋根裏部屋（キャビネット）に工房を設けており、人々は彼らに敬意を表してキャビノチェと呼んでいたことが語源です。マルタ十字のクロスをブランドロゴに掲げ、高く洗練された優れた技術力によって生み出された名品はコレクターも多く、世界中から高い評価を得ています。

This Vacheron Constantin rectangular watch, sold in the 1960s, exudes elegance and sophistication. The 18K white gold case measures a slim 5.5mm in thickness, embodying refined craftsmanship. The silver sunray-finished dial features a unique layout: elongated vertical bar indexes at 12 and 6 o’clock, with shorter horizontal indexes along the periphery. This ingenious design utilizes the rectangular space to create a striking and unconventional aesthetic. While the case dimensions might suggest a traditionally feminine size, its versatile proportions align perfectly with contemporary trends, making it suitable for all.

The watch is powered by the ultra-thin, hand-wound Cal.K1050, a movement originally crafted by Jaeger-LeCoultre and fine-tuned by Vacheron Constantin. Unlike the common 17-jewel movements of its era, this caliber boasts 20 jewels and adjustments for five positions and temperature, underscoring its status as a premier dress watch.

The case is in excellent condition, with minor storage marks on the case back. Hallmarks and edges remain sharp, reflecting its well-preserved state. The dial, while showing faint granular aging under magnification, retains its clean silver tone without discoloration. Our in-house servicing ensures this piece is ready for both daily wear and addition to a fine collection.

This watch comes fitted with a Vacheron Constantin original strap, supplied during its acquisition. Interestingly, the strap is of a men’s size, possibly hinting at the brand’s design intent at the time. The result is a dress watch with a classical yet masculine appeal.
