T17

Introduced in 1934, the T17 is one of OMEGA’s defining shaped manually wound movements. Designed specifically for rectangular and tonneau-shaped cases, it was used in numerous watches that strongly reflected the Art Deco style of the 1930s.

At a time when many rectangular watches still housed round movements, OMEGA designed and produced a dedicated form movement to match the shape of the case—an indication of the brand’s technical capability. Watches fitted with the T17 appeared in a wide variety of designs, including stepped and curved cases, Arabic numerals, and two-tone dials, making the collection a compelling expression of both OMEGA’s mechanical engineering and 1930s design.
