Speedmaster
Beginning with the first SPEEDMASTER introduced in 1957, this collection traces the lineage of OMEGA’s manually wound chronographs. Early models were powered by the column-wheel Cal. 321 and featured a tachymeter bezel and highly legible dial, originally conceived with motorsport timing in mind.
Over time, the model evolved through changes to the case, dial, and bezel, eventually becoming the SPEEDMASTER PROFESSIONAL and earning its lasting reputation as the “Moonwatch” through NASA’s manned spaceflight program. From the transition between Cal. 321 and Cal. 861 to variations in dials, hands, bezels, and casebacks, each generation reveals subtle differences that allow the evolution of the SPEEDMASTER’s design and mechanics to be traced from the very beginning.
